(01-24-2005)
PRESS RELEASE
January 13, 2005
Invitation to the public: Napa Mayoral and City Council Candidate Environmental Forum Monday, January 24, 2005, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Napa City-County Library, 580 Coombs Street, Napa
The Friends of the Napa River, the Napa Sierra Club, and Get a Grip on Growth are sponsoring a Candidate Environmental Forum for all Napa Mayoral and City Council candidates running in the March 8, 2005 General Municipal Election. This will be an opportunity for candidates to speak directly to the public on quality-of-life and environmental issues that affect all City and County residents.
The candidates have been given a list of questions from the sponsoring groups and asked to provide written answers to each question (see link to PDF of questions and answers below). The sponsoring groups will review the answers and develop issue-specific follow-up questions to be asked at the event itself. In addition, the candidate's written answers, in their entirety, will be distributed to audience members at the event, so that the public may ask follow up questions as well. George Boyet will act as moderator.
The event will be held on Monday, January 24, in the Community Meeting Room of the Napa City-County Library, 580 Coombs Street. Doors open to the public at 5:45 pm; the forum itself will run from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.
For directions to the Library, call 253-4235. For questions about the event itself, call Friends of the Napa River office at 254-8520.
